Mission

CompareZone.ca helps Canadians find phone and internet plans that fit their usage without overpaying. Every recommendation is built on verified, current pricing — not guesswork, and not whoever pays the highest commission.

Independence

Editorial decisions — which plans we list, how we rank them, and what we say about each one — are made independently of any carrier or advertiser relationship. No carrier can pay for a better ranking, a featured spot, or removal of a negative note. If a plan is poor value, we say so — and since we have no commercial relationship with any carrier, there is nothing pulling the other way.

Affiliate links

CompareZone currently runs no affiliate or referral links. Nothing on this site earns us a commission, and no carrier pays for placement. If that changes we will disclose it here first, and on every page carrying such a link, before the first one goes live.

Verification standards

• Plan prices, data allotments, and terms are checked against carrier sites on a regular cadence.
• Every plan listing carries a "last verified" date. A plan without a recent verification date is not published as current.
• Analyzer recommendations are computed live from tracked pricing data and the reader's stated usage and province — not from a static or outdated table.
• If a carrier changes a price or term between verification cycles, we correct the listing as soon as it's confirmed and note the update.

Ranking methodology

Plans are ranked on effective cost per GB, total monthly price, and fit for the usage tier a reader selects (e.g., light, moderate, heavy data use). Rankings do not weight affiliate partnership status. Where a non-affiliate plan is the better deal, it's shown as the better deal. Honesty about trade-offs

We name the catch. If a cheaper plan runs on a flanker brand with weaker customer service, or a "deal" requires porting a number during a blackout window, that's stated plainly. Where staying on a current plan is genuinely the better move — because the savings don't justify the hassle, for example — we say that instead of pushing a switch.

Sourcing

Pricing and plan terms are sourced directly from carrier websites and official carrier communications. We do not rely on third-party aggregators or unverified user reports for published prices. Guides and explainers that reference regulatory or market context (e.g., CRTC rules) cite the primary source.

Corrections

Errors are corrected as soon as they're identified, whether flagged internally, by a reader, or by a carrier. Material price or term corrections are reflected immediately in the listing; the "last verified" date updates to reflect the correction.

Reader trust

• No paid placement disguised as an organic ranking.
• No listing of a plan we haven't independently verified within our stated cadence.
• No burying of cons to make a higher-commission plan look better.
• Reader data submitted to the analyzer (bill amount, usage, province) is used only to generate that reader's recommendations.

Review cadence

This policy is reviewed at minimum annually, or sooner if our verification process, affiliate relationships, or ranking methodology materially change.
